David Filart - Athlete Spotlight

SALISBURY, Md. – Parkside boys soccer has reached the 2A state title game for the first time since 2004.

One of the keys to their success has been their last line of defense, senior goalkeeper David Filart.

Filart had a major setback his freshman year, after being called into his first varsity action for penalty kicks against Kent Island with the season hanging in the balance. He failed to register a single save, and the Rams went home.

But his perseverance has led him to this moment. We spoke with Filart for After The Whistle.
